The Malaysian Reserve: PMW breaks ground on RM44m Perak plant to triple spun pile capacity

PMW International Bhd

PMW International Bhd has broken ground on a RM43.76 million spun concrete pile manufacturing facility in Bemban, Perak, which will triple the group’s annual production capacity to about 718,000 metric tonnes from 238,000 metric tonnes.

The plant, slated to begin commercial operations in the third quarter of 2027, will have a monthly production capacity of 40,000 metric tonnes and will become PMW’s fifth manufacturing facility in Ipoh, strengthening its supply to infrastructure, industrial and engineering projects across northern and central Peninsular Malaysia.

Its wholly owned subsidiary PMW Winabumi Sdn Bhd has awarded a RM14.2 million construction contract to ECJ Construction Sdn Bhd, with works commencing immediately and targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2027.

The project will be funded through a mix of internally generated funds and bank borrowings, supported by RM54.5 million in banking facilities from Maybank Islamic Bhd for construction, machinery purchases, working capital and trade financing.

Its CEO Lee Hon Hwa said the new facility would significantly enhance PMW’s production capacity and operational flexibility, positioning the group to meet rising demand from Malaysia’s infrastructure development pipeline.
