1981
Our journey began in 1981 with the incorporation of United Bakelite & Plastik Company (UBP) by the late Lee Khee Chong. As the first company in Malaysia to manufacture accessories for pre-stressed spun concrete poles and piles, UBP laid the foundation for our expertise in the concrete infrastructure industry.
1992
In 1992, PMW Industries Sdn. Bhd. was officially established in Malaysia, specialising in the manufacturing of moulds, machinery, and accessories for spun poles and piles. That same year, we completed and moved into our new Ipoh Factory 1, which remains our headquarters today. This milestone marked the beginning of our journey toward innovation, growth, and industry leadership.
2005
Our journey began in 2005 with the incorporation of PMW Concrete in Malaysia, marking the foundation of what would grow into a leading infrastructure solutions group. This year also saw the incorporation of Winabumi, another concrete manufacturing company, which would later begin operations in 2007 at a rented facility in Inanam, Sabah.
These early steps laid the groundwork for our commitment to delivering high-quality concrete products and building strong manufacturing capabilities, setting the stage for full-scale operations in the years to come.
2006
By 2006, PMW Concrete officially commenced full-scale operations, focusing on supplying reliable concrete products to meet the growing demands of the utility and infrastructure sectors.
During this year, PMW Industries secured its first contract to supply standard poles, producing them at Ipoh Factory 2, which had been converted into a spun concrete products facility. The spun products manufacturing business, along with its moulds and machinery, was transferred and rented to PMW Concrete, enabling dedicated spun concrete production.
This year also marked the beginning of our mould and machinery rental business under PMW Industries, providing additional support to the growing construction and infrastructure market. These milestones in 2006 strengthened our manufacturing foundation and prepared us for regional expansion in the years ahead.
2012
We completed the construction of the Kuching Factory in 2012 and began manufacturing standard poles shortly after. In 2024, we concluded operations at the Kuching facility and subsequently divested the plant to non-related parties as part of our strategic business realignment.
2014
In 2014, Mega Summit broadened its portfolio by venturing into concrete product manufacturing with the establishment of the Kota Kinabalu Factory. After operating for two years, Mega Summit ceased production on 31 December 2016, and beginning 1 January 2017, the facility (along with its moulds and machinery) was leased to Winabumi, who continues to utilise it for spun product manufacturing
2015
PMW Industries strengthened its international presence. We secured a series of purchase orders from Oman Poles to manufacture, install, and commission moulds and machinery for their concrete product plant in Sumail, Oman, which commenced operations in 2015. Since then, Oman Poles has continued to rely on us for additional moulds and machinery on an as-needed basis, demonstrating the trust and confidence built through our longstanding collaboration.
2016
In 2016, we introduced the first Concrete Grade 80 products in Sabah, raising the benchmark for strength, durability, and performance in the region’s construction sector. This advancement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, future-ready solutions.
That same year, Winabumi Marketing was incorporated in Malaysia and began operations as a trading arm specialising in spun piles, square piles, and related products, strengthening our market presence and distribution capabilities.
PMW Industries also expanded its regional reach from a customer in Batam, Indonesia, to manufacture standard pole moulds and accessories—an achievement that further established our position as a trusted supplier in Southeast Asia.
2022
PMW Group of Companies completed the development of our new manufacturing facility in Ipoh (Ipoh Factory 3), further strengthening our production capacity. Following successful testing and commissioning, the plant officially began operations in 2023.
That same year, we expanded our global footprint by securing a non-recurring export order from Poland to supply moulds and machinery for a spun pole manufacturing plant. This milestone marked another step forward in bringing PMW’s expertise to international markets.
2024
As market demands evolved, PMW Group recognized the need to diversify. We expanded into LED lighting, solar street lights, and smart lighting products, addressing the growing emphasis on energy efficiency and smart technology. This strategic expansion not only broadened our product portfolio but also reinforced our position as an industry leader committed to sustainability and innovation.
2025
2025 marks a major milestone for PMW International Berhad as we proudly debut on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia. This achievement reflects over four decades of growth, innovation, and leadership in pre-stressed spun concrete poles, piles, monopoles, moulds, machinery, and infrastructure solutions.
Our listing strengthens our foundation for future expansion, including new facilities and advanced technology to support growing demand in Malaysia and international markets.
